Oh, how my heart hurts loving you
beyond longing
beyond knowing
beyond understanding
a day arrives tears cannot be stopped
An old letter
simple one
one sentence
eight words
three I long to hear again
Some days I just can't handle
keeping it all together
wishing I could let go
but knowing my heart won't let me
Waiting out this time
however long this will be
the unknown messes with Sanity
Longing for such simple things
a normal life existence
a family; love
children with smiles
my friend; my soul's mate

The Dad with Simple Shoes © 2010 Janette Marie
The man that wears the Simple Shoes
has another special pairone that is the Greatest Dad
that none could ever compare
Growing up he learned first hand
how tough it is in spotlight and press
he knows the lies and hurt that comes
to little one put within their reach
He took the blows of criticism
to protect his precious young
kept their youth from being stolen
by photos and hurtful lies
He gracefully raised three wonderful kids
full of life and full of love
introduced them to the world
with gentle care and graceful love
He's given them a start in life
that most don't ever receive
Lots of love, attention, praise and hugs
so they know that they are always loved
Imagination, Singing, dancing, playing
all the joy a kid could want
shared with a Dad who loves them more
than they could ever possibly know
A wonderful Dad
with Simple Shoes
wanting Love around the world
wishing children everywhere
all that they need to live
Health, Peace, Love ,Happiness
he'd love to give to all of them
The Dad that wears these Simple Shoes
His Name is Michael Jackson

I can feel your missing hand
whenever mine is at my side
makes more real the emptiness
longing for you brings
Each day comes to prove
that life continues to move
and as it goes along
I'm taking you along
I can feel your missing hand
on my shoulder when needing care
I tell you things I want to share
I'm taking you along
Each day filled wih moments
moments missing you
memories built today
I'll tell you of them tonight
Alone in the dark
I feel your missing hand
I cry out your name
Tell you of my day
I'm taking you along

Without a Sound

Tall into the sky you reached
to those far away you've greeted
to guide them to your sacred ground
a place that's remembered without a sound
Piles of rubble you became
because of hatred that wanted a grave
a place to bury any sign
of human love of any kind
Twisted Melted Piled Steel
wrapped around the hearts of all
people from each race and creed
all because of hate and greed
Terror struck the world that day
stole from us so many lives
tried to take away our light
tried to make our world divide
Pulling together made us strong
made us learn we all belong
tall into the sky we reach
to guide all to this remembered place
a place remembered without a sound
we now share this holy ground

Balloon

Long colorful inflatable toy
made to bring smiles of joy
for birthday girls and boys
We've blown and we've panted
but have we ever counted
or have we taken for granted
the long strong healthy breaths
used to make them grow
How some will always long to know
the pleasure of making them grow
to see the joy they sow
making children smile just so
Our breaths come from healthy lungs
that many take for granted
each breath is a wonderful gift
even if you've panted.

Nature

A creek bends
A valley dips
Volcanos erupt
A cloud bursts.
Rivers rage
Sunlight disappears
daylight leaves
only half a moon.
Darkest day
A tree bends
Elephants forget
Why can't people
Snow falls
the road leads
Rains pour
Sidewalks crack
Grass grows
Why can't people
Flowers bloom
Roots sprout
Sunshine warms
Why can't people
Words speak
Oceans are lonley
Roses bite
So do people.

Articulating Fingers

From your fingers
to my window
your words enter my world
from digital files
floating in space
to letters with character sitting in rows
I anticipate their arrival
knowing I'll Smile.

Mirrored Souls
written by: Janette Marie
© 2010 Janette Marie
I loose myself within your eyes
my breath escapes with a sigh
through the night
clearly, I see your light
It's like I'm supposed to know you
never strangers - mirrored souls
your essence is the mold
that the image of you is shown
Image engraved in mental sight
retrieved for company and to share light
brought together with passion
Mirrored souls take flight.
