Light splits into many colors

my life is like a prism

I shine in many colors

not just one defines me

I search and wait for a special one

to capture my light and value its shade

that today it may be blue 

but tomorrow it may be pink

Nowhere in my rainbow of colors

do I find black against the night

I see yellow speckels aross the sky

hoping you'll catch one and see

I sit to be judged by many kind

of which none is fair

my heart is open to all I see

and my love is given to all I pass

I search for you my special one

that Loves my array of colors

please don't put me into the dark

and judge me just the same

a mirror

or in the dark

I could see you best in the dark

Where ever I go, I talk to you

 can almost hear your reply

I can feel you with me all through the day

I know you are there

Closed Eyes

Eyes not needed to feel your soul

to touch your hand or touch your heart

the senses take me to where you are

a quite room by a fireplace

a smirk a snicker or frown can be found

emotions exploding inside your head

To discover to wonder to amuse my mind

I close my eyes and imagine you there

Silence

 Wishing it away
the silence

silence engulfing every sound
 as if hungry for dinner

feed the silence
with any sound
but it still wants more

It takes the chirps
 the wind and its chimes

buries them deep
in the hallows of loneliness

filling it up
to disguise loneliness as complete

Tick Tock the clock

dares to interrupt its greed

makes you miss the silence
that the Tick and the Tock
are no longer
Alone waiting

to make a noise

It is a calm, a peace, a comfort. It rushes over like a wave of sunlight and captures your breath and gives it back again. It is the knowing and the unknowing it is the comfort of familiar and the excitement of the future. It is your hand in mine and your heart beside it. It is in hearing and it is in understanding. Accepting even without agreement. It is valuing one another as God values each. It is our most precious commodity and yet not valued in the market. It exists without you but calls you to it ~ it is in smiles and laughter as much as it is in arms and hearts. It is you and it is me if we choose to let it.

Louder than thunder

Stronger than the waves that move the tides

Looking at you my mind melts from this moment to the next

Wanting the smells of your hair and skin against the wind

Your smile blinds the sun and my heart

Such Joy is not often found in a world as this

One free to be to hold to savor to keep

The air leaving droplets of moisture that try to land

But our joy our laughter our love sends them on their way to another shore

Love in dreams is never this rare

The moment is here
how will you steer

If a man can sing a thousand songs, then why can’t they hear you

your words will always tell the truth that’s buried deep

If a picture paints a thousand words then why can't they see you

the man you've grown to be; a light to guide the way

if you should choose to show yourself again

I will look for you among the stars and each wave on the beach

my love for you will stay always safe within my heart

Should the world someday allow itself to see your loving heart

If I can place words on paper that sing our love

can you find the music in the air to help them 

Can your magic give these words a voice ~ a beat 

can these notes find the lovers in the world

that hear the beat of another's heart

Will they travel to the moon and back

will they sparkle through the night 

will they recognize our souls

will smiles appear around the world

as the sparkles make love with the night

will they also teach peace to conquer war

will they force the hurts from within the souls 

souls searching for the magic 

magic that heals a world of hearts
