What I wouldn't give for just one moment to live

sitting on the branches of you the giving tree

to feel the gift of your branches

to see the view only you can give

you the giving tree.

Will your view inspire my hands

to write the words given

will your branches sustain the energy

to move my pen across my paper

to lay upon its lineless existence

the words given to rhyme with my soul.

Emotion inside so strong it silences the words to express it

Picture in the mind so vivid it breaks the heart to dream it

Need to touch with the hands that feel her love slip away

a hand to hold with yours alone
a kindred soul to bond with yours
to fill your heart with joy

A glance across a crowded room
a smile to light the dark
a friend to have to call your own
whose heart belongs to you alone

Hopes and dreams to fill a jar
that light up like captured fireflies
together to contemplate their beauty
and release to see them fly

May all the hopes and dreams you have
resting quiet in your captive heart
find their way outside the jar
to light the dark for you and I

will I be heard
when will I matter
enough to not be flattened
my words are important
and they have power
is that the reason
they are always overpowered
I matter
when will you hear
will you ever care
enough to let me share
all that is inside
when will you care
to allow me to be
to say, to feel to be alive
why am I always squashed
what is it about me that
brings me to be overpowered
in thoughts, opinions, words, air
let me breathe
let me exist

May your day split up like a banana split, spent lounging about in a boat made for two, spoonful's of chocolate to awaken your senses, a strawberry sunset to consume before dusk and a vanilla moon behind an ocean view topping off a Sunday built just for two.

Surrounded by candelight
Alone in my dreams
Seeing visions of you
Dancing alone

Smiles overcome sadness
as you light up the room
flickers of candelight
become your moonlight

Unaware of your audience
you let your heart free
the music, the rhythm
that's who you become

My dream is consumed
by your presence therein
your beauty, your light
the dancer takes flight

all these days alone

I wonder if you have tears
running down your cheeks

missing me as much

Will you find your way home
to my open door

beats insync with mine
do you hear the things I'm thinking
are you missing me as much

As I sit here with aching heart
knowing your heart is loving

The flickering of light
between dancing leaves
drained out by the chatter
of inhabitants of my yard

End of a cycle
repeating every day
from dawn until dusk
its work must be done

Like us it has morning
stretching out until noon
growing and being
as baby in Mother's arms

As evening drifts in
all calms to a crawl
contemplating the dark
and the magic it brings

Fireflies and June bugs
buzzing right by
the moonlight the stardust
giving way to the night
Illuminating the mystery
and magic of night
imagination set free
to dream and to be.

The Rhythm of an old washing machine
broken string from Dad's guitar
singing and dancing from dawn till dusk
a Light was lit one note at a time

God chose a very special soul
to be the Light to brighten our world
A smile, a laugh, a tear a Man
we're blessed to know his name

This man to carry our sorrows & pain
take on his shoulders all that came
Light that never flickered
Light that will never fail

Loving care for our smallest ones
teaching others by leading the way
asking only that Peace and Love prevail
encouraging all to dream their dreams
inspiring all to achieve; to Live

Children see this brilliant light
respond in kind to his gentle ways
they understand him without words
This Man that Loves and is their Voice

Respecting the Gift of Song and Dance
nature smiles and is fulfilled
turning nature's talent into Loving Light
teaching gently where it lands

Love laid out a path
His Light encourages all to follow
Join his songs and dance along
