The Gift

A Christmas gift you may not find
wrapped up beneath the tree this year
Hopes and dreams sometimes seem
bleak and out of reach
Trust dear Child that all will be
all that God promises this day.

You are a Light given to my heart
a Spotlight for the World to see
He's Promised Light and Love to you
if only you Believe.

Reach out your heart into the world
Share your Love and your Light
Give of yourself to those in need
much more than you yourself

Receive the JOY that comes to you
beyond your treasured hopes and dreams
find that what lies out there for you
is the greatest gift of all

You yourself are the greatest gift
a gift of Love created by God
As you give of yourself
freely from your heart
His Love returns to you ten fold
a treasure worth a heart of Gold.

Mama

Oh, Mama, how could you leave
four of your six were still in the nest
none of us were grown yet
oh, how could you leave us

Too young to care for myself
yet needing to mother the younger
new home, new city, hunger
for the love of my Mother.

Taught to understand
I wasn't in your favor
always feeling dispicable
because I didn't have your favor

If walls could speak my thoughts
if they could tell of my heart
would you care to know
the sacrifce of youth I gave
to survive your flight

Oh, Mama, how could you leave
was your freedom worth the price
yet I love you and I forgive

Brushes and a Dream

I remember a Christmas not long ago
when your name I did not know
My heart has known you are the one
My soul needed to become whole

Traditions like statues
attempt hauntings in the mind
creativity struggles to surface, to light
to fill hearts anew, with a glow, with Love

Dusting away memories
as new ones fall into place
a family of my dreams
a family of my heart

Time is a canvas, empty and new
brushes dipped in hopes and dreams
anxious to create memories in the hearts
matching dreams in the mind
of those daring to dream

I remember a Christmas not long ago
your name I did not know
I've dared to dream a dream of you
a portrait born from hopes and dreams.

Side by side
minds connected
souls bound by Longing and Loving

Recently, while moving, I found some poems I wrote many years ago that I thought that I had lost. I thought that I would share a couple of them:

crowded with people

Everywhere I look
no partner is left.

Everyone is taken
everyone but me.

I am the odd one
left to dance alone.

Thus letting me know you care

You are all these things and more
Thus my reasons for loving you.

As I look outside
the wind blows and the snow falls
till the seasons change


After the rains start
the flowers start to come up
then kissed by the sun.

Barefoot in the grass
the hot sun beaming down
until the night comes

Sitting outside now
the orange sun is setting
down to go to sleep

Simple Shoes

The man that wears the Simple shoes
he fills so many different pairs
each one has a special place
within the world we live


First lets talk about his loving shoes
filled with kindness from his heart
polished with his gentle hands
to see that those he meets will shine


These Loving Shoes are very large
wide enough to hold the world
safe within their warm embrace
giving and caring to all in need


These Loving shoes take extra care
for young and sick alike
the little ones that need the Love
are taken in his care


Oh, how the world is truly blessed
to know this man with Loving Shoes
