Without a Sound

Tall into the sky you reached
to those far away you've greeted
to guide them to your sacred ground
a place that's remembered without a sound

Piles of rubble you became
because of hatred that wanted a grave
a place to bury any sign
of human love of any kind

Twisted Melted Piled Steel
wrapped around the hearts of all
people from each race and creed
all because of hate and greed

Terror struck the world that day
stole from us so many lives
tried to take away our light
tried to make our world divide

Pulling together made us strong
made us learn we all belong
tall  into the sky we reach
to guide all to this remembered place
a place remembered without a sound
we now share this holy ground
