Sitting here in my hometown
Watching the sun upon the ground
the trees no longer have the leaves
with colors that make you smile
The green of the grass has faded
awaiting the white blanket of winter
today seems cold and lonley
you're not smiling I can feel
My heart feels heavy
having watched unfold
the stories told only yesterday
that tested your endurance
Why can't this be a perfect world
no hurts ~ no sorrows
no fears ~ no tears
I long for a happy tomorrow
when a smile returns to you.
