Find myself alone
at the end of the day
within a crowded house.

Searching for a soft spot
where I can place my heart.
A bright and shiny person
whose care will challenge and inspire.

Quiet time as the sun sets
moments shared between two
as no words are ever needed
to fulfill these loving hearts.

These hearts that look to see
not what is already there;
but to inspire the other
to become what they were meant to be.

discovering you.

Where are you headed
are you going there alone
or searching; just like me?

Wondering what it is you'll say
the thoughts you'll ponder
Will you make me wonder?
Or, put my curiosity to slumber?

Are you wanting what I need.

Living in an Hourglass

Grains of sand
account for my days
dripping like water
through the center of my soul.

Each grain of sand that drops
feels as a brick of gold
landing upon my chest
taking away my breath

Torn between my hearts desire
and that which needs to be
emotions bottled up inside
threaten to burst the hourglass.

Grains of sand pour over my feet
grounding me by the loss of days
days spent within a dream
a dream that seems beyond my reach

You glance upon my soul
with your eyes dark as coal
with the slightest sweetest touch
your breath asks for much
I answer with a blush.

Strange that I know you
Just by your touch
and your glance
known to my soul
as my heart
knows your name.

You call to my heart
but for now I cannot answer
My heart asks you to redial
with a smile and a blush.

New Horizon

At the edge of the land
the cool refreshing water
cleansing away the sorrows of yesterday.

The sand becomes a mold
of your feet upon the ground
of a new beginning.

The Sunrise sparkles
across the water
possibilities the future has awaiting

Lifetime of happiness
yet to discover
love and laugher are there to behold

of the land
Feet planted firmly
in the sand

Suspense of wanting to know
apprehension of change
fear of losing a friend
not wanting hurt of delusions

Having love in my heart
that was meant only for paper
leaves hopes and dreams
for a dream state of illusions

Heart feels trapped
between chest and throat

Existing in separate domains

moments of interaction

never enough.

Words can say everything

or nothing.

YOU are the words
